Harefield Amateur
Dramatic Society
ABOUT US
HADS is the local amateur dramatic society for the village of Harefield, between Rickmansworth and Uxbridge, in West London. Who would have thought that a small group of people, brought together by Francis James and Leslie Baxter in 1951 would have grown into the very successful dramatic company which is now Harefield Amateur Dramatic Society,
We currently produce 2 main plays a year plus a summer production, Christmas party and various other side-ventures.
We have members from Harefield itself, plus a wide surrounding area and of all ages, who are a mixture of frontstagers and backstagers. We have a reputation for quality performances, sets and effects and have garnered several awards.
We're not stuffy or dah-lings and recognise that people give up an enormous amount of their free time and dedication to producing performances and we try to make it fun and inviting. Of course, as with any drama group, there can be more drama off-stage than on, but that's half the fun.
We are members of NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association) and are supported by the HAA (Hillingdon Arts Association).
Our venues have been varied from St Mary's Old School Hall to our present home at St Mary's Church Hall, High Street, Harefield, UB9 6BX, where we meet every Tuesday evening at 8pm. Come and join us to see what we're up to.
